Non-Surgical Rejuvenation
Back
At Plastic Surgery Associates of Northern Virginia, we offer procedures to improve soft tissue problems in specific areas. These "non-surgical" procedures enhance your appearance with minimal discomfort and inconvenience. Simple, injectable materials, such as BOTOX, collagens, Juvederm™, ArteFill® and Sculptra™ can improve your problem areas and enhance your appearance.
BOTOX® treatment is used to reduce facial wrinkling and frown lines. BOTOX® is safe, reliable and easy to use. It is injected into the muscle to weaken it so that the overlying skin becomes smoother, more supple and less irregular. It often takes 3-10 days before the full effects of a BOTOX® injection are noticed. The result is a more relaxed and rested appearance. BOTOX® often lasts about 3 to 6 months and is an excellent solution for problems with wrinkling in the forehead, eyebrow areas, and even crow's feet around the eyes. There is antedotal evidence that repeated BOTOX® use can result in long-term improvement.
Juvederm™- FDA approved hyaluronic acid that is often used to enhance lips, fill in "smokers lines" or get rid of wrinkles and frown lines. There is no skin test required and treatments last about 9-12 months.
ArteFill®- FDA approved permanent non-resorbable wrinkle filler. Results improve over the course of several months. Requires a skin test.
Sculptra™ is FDA approved poly-L-lactic acid that restores and corrects the signs of facial fat loss. Sculptra replaces the volume, is long lasting and has been reported to last up to two years. No test is required.
Radiesse®- Is the first FDA approved calcium hydroxlapatite injectable cohesive implant used for soft tissue augmentation. It has been proven to be safe, effective, long lasting (1-2 years), and does not require a skin test because it is the same mineral component found in bones and teeth.
Collagen- Has been used to increase lip fullness and to treat minor facial imperfections, creating a more youthful and healthy appearance. Collagen injections are not permanent procedures, so you will need to be re-treated every few months to maintain your look and fullness. A skin test is required. |
